What We're Tracking

Illume Umbra Research maintains a continuously evolving log of anomalous phenomena across the Western U.S. Below are the primary categories of inquiry we're actively investigating, drawn from field data, community reports, government documents, and historic patterns.

Unidentified Aerial Activity

We document reports of aerial objects or lights that do not immediately match known aircraft or common atmospheric phenomena. These observations often involve unusual movement, timing, or positioning, and are typically noted because they differ from what witnesses expect to see in that area.

Cryptid Encounters in Desert, Forest, and Mountain Terrain

We investigate ongoing reports of large unknown bipeds, quadrupeds, and anomalous fauna across remote wilderness zones, often coinciding with inaccessible terrain, seasonal migration windows, or unexplained animal behavior. Current points of interest include:

Apparitional Phenomena & Haunted Site Patterns

Illume Umbra Research monitors reports of apparitional entities, disembodied voices, and location-based anomalous activity. Our focus includes:

Archival Research & Historical Inquiry

Illume Umbra Research focuses on locating, preserving, and contextualizing lesser-known research and historical material related to unconventional scientific and psychological inquiry. Much of this work involves recovering sources that are fragmented, out of print, or poorly indexed, and placing them into a coherent historical record for future study.

Public Records & Institutional Disclosure

Illume Umbra Research actively pursues public records related to unexplained incidents in order to preserve, organize, and make accessible material that would otherwise remain fragmented, delayed, or obscured. This work focuses on how information is requested, released, and recorded across agencies and time periods.

Help Expand the Record

If you've witnessed something or have knowledge, archives, or local insights tied to any of the above, we invite your contribution. Submissions may be anonymous and are handled with discretion.
