Coast & Geodetic Survey Dugway Records
This archive contains records released through a NOAA FOIA request relating to U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey survey work conducted at Dugway Proving Ground between 1947 and 1952.
The documents concern measurement instrumentation and spirit level observations associated with underground explosive testing programs during the early Cold War period.
Included in the release are survey instructions issued in April 1948, precise measurement reports, and multi-volume survey records documenting the establishment of benchmarks and observation lines at Dugway.
These materials provide primary-source documentation of geodetic survey work supporting underground blast measurement experiments conducted at the proving ground.
